AUDF One Act Festival

Bangor, Moira/Belfast and Newtownabbey normally run a 1-Act Drama Festival in October/November each year. This year Enniskillen started a 1-Act Festival with an AUDF section. Unfortunately, Moira are unable to run this year.

Teams entering can gain points for the Northern Ireland One Act Finals which will be held on January 18th in the Belvoir Studio Theatre.

The winner of the N. I. One Act Final Festival has the honour of representing Northern Ireland in the British Final Festival of 1-Act Plays. This will take place in Lichfield on 4/5th July 2025.

A LITTLE BOX OF OBLIVION

Stephen Bean

It's a lovely spring day in an urban conurbation. Cool is settling on a park bench to read the paper when a woman rushes on, puts a box down next to her, giving strict instructions before she rushes off, not to move, tilt or open it. Passersby begin to arrive and offer wild suggestions as to what is inside. At last exasperated by these highly opinionated people, Cool has had enough. She waves the box above her head, shakes, and rattles it to prove it is only a cardboard box only to be berated by the returning woman... who reveals all!

THEATRE 3 NEWTOWNABBEY

PERCHANCE TO DREAM

David McCann

The reinterpretation of Joseph Merrick's story. As seen through the eyes of Sir Frederick Treves, provides a fresh and introspective perspective on one of history's most poignant relationships. By framing the narrative as a series of flashbacks, it allows Treves to recount his experiences, and the profound impact Merrick had on him.

(PLAZA SUITE)

Neil Simon

The not-so-blissfully married couple, Sam and Karen, are revisiting their honeymoon suite in an attempt by Karen to bring the love back into their marriage. This one act play (which is part of Plaza Suite) manages to be both hilarious and heart-breaking, as Karen does her best to save her marriage with champagne and hors d'oeuvres — but no anchovies!
